Sin..

Genesis 4:7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
Psalm 37:38 But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off.

Psalm 104:35 But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more. Praise the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD.

Do you ever take a second to stop and think how many times a day we sin, knowing God doesn’t like sin? We sin to make others’ self esteem go up, we sin to get ourselves out of trouble in any way, we speed on the highway (even by a few mph is a sin, you’re still not following the law if you think about it..), we cheat on homework, we cheat on a test, we talk out in class after we were told not to, we gossip, we lie to our parents about where we are going, we are late for our curfew, we drive people before our six months are up, etc.. All of these have become just “little” sins. But really, these things are what some of us do on a day to day basis, more than once a day even. It’s become part of the norm for us. How is it that God doesn’t like sin at all, but in a TON of ways we keep on and on sinning, and to make ourselves feel better we say, “It’s not that big of a deal.”

Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.

If a friend, parent, or anyone really influences you or tries to get you to do something, doesn’t mean you have to do it. When you are driving, and someone’s riding your butt, doesn’t mean you have to speed up to get them off your butt. Then you’re just falling into what every one else is doing, which is dumb!! I never really thought about all of this until tonight, I just don’t understand why we aren’t already aware of it all. We sin so often. God doesn’t like sin, let’s try to monitor our actions. I am guilty for ALL of the things above, I do it so much it’s just crazy. Even though a sin is a sin, we seem to have categorized sin into “big” and “small” sins. Let’s just get rid of it all. No matter how wrong we think it is, still. Just something to think about.

Love,
Chelsie.
