“You’re beautiful, and that’s beautiful to me.”

GIRLS:

1 Peter 3:3-4 says: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Fact: We’re all beautiful. No matter what some jerk guy says, or what your parents say, or what the magazines say, or what you say to yourself. What does God say? He says that beauty comes from what’s in your heart, what’s on the inside. Your personality, your thoughts, your desires, your inner being. NOT the kind of shoes your wear, what your talents are, what group of friends you chill with, not how long your hair is, how much orange makeup you cake on your face, how much eyeliner your eyes are coated with, or how many guys tell you that you are beautiful. In the past, I would have said “Ughhhhh, I’m so stinkin ugly. THAT’S why I don’t have a stinkin’ guy” or “Ah, that girl is SO pretty! Why can’t I be that pretty?! Sheeshhh” BUT no. False. I am that pretty. Every one of us girls are pretty. God created us each with a different eye color, hair color and texture, skin tone, size of eyes, nose, lips, ears, forehead, height, weight, etc. for a reason. So we all are unique and beautiful in our own way! HE says we are all beautiful. Have you ever heard this song? Most of us have, when we were what, five? In Vacation Bible School or something our parents stuck us in. The lyrics are:

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and Yellow, Black and White
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Whether you’re rich or whether you’re poor
It matters not to Him
He remembers where you’re going
Not where you’ve been

Jesus died for all the little children
All the children of the world
Red and Yellow, Black and White
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus died for all the children of the world

If your heart is troubled
Don’t worry, don’t you fret
He knows that you have heard His call
And he won’t forget

Jesus lives for all the children
All the children of the world
Red and Yellow, Black and White
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus lives for all the children of the world

All around the world tonight
His children rest assured
That He will watch and He will keep us
Safe and secure

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and Yellow, Black and White
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

How awesome is that?! I’ve had that song in my head lately. HE loves all of us, no matter what we look like, we are all precious in His sight. Isn’t that all that truely matters? Yes, we may have those days where our hair looks like poop, or our face breaks out, or that period of time where we may get a bad haircut and it takes forever to grow out. BUT, during all of those simply tragic events;) , we are still beautiful children in His sight! I think that SHOULD be enough for us. We shouldn’t have to break our necks trying to look hot or any other word in that same ball park. We should just be happy with what we got! Our “goods” as my sweet friend, Martina, calls them;). I mean ya, we should look decent, since our bodies are a temple of God? (1 Corinthians 6:19- Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.) We shouldn’t dress in clothes that show off our junk. We should be a little modest. In my Sunday school class, we all kind of joke around and say ”Modesty is Hot-esty.” Perfect.

Anyway, point is. Stop putting yourself down! You’re HOT! God loves each and every one of us. Try and think about that next time you put yourself down

Love,

Chelsie.
